Report: Nikon’s All-New Full Frame Shooter Will be Marketed as an ‘Action’ Camera

Nikon Rumors is reporting that the mystery full-frame camera Nikon is said to announce at Photokina next month, the one that some speculated would be a ‘true’ replacement for the D700, will actually be marketed as an “action” camera.

But don’t take that to mean that this will be some sort of full-frame GoPro. It’s not going to be an action camera in that sense. NR believes it will instead be a Nikon FF DSLR marketed specifically to action sports shooters. Read more…

Nikon D800/E Replacement’s Release Date ‘Confirmed,’ Expect it on June 26th

Here’s a quick but exciting update for Nikon full-frame shooters. According to Nikon Rumors, who reported in May that the D800/E replacement would arrive sometime in June, the so-called D800s will officially make its debut on June 26th.

NR used the word ‘confirmed’ with this rumor, so we’re assuming it’s as accurate as a date gets without actually being announced by Nikon itself. Nikon Allocates $17.7 Million to Repair D600 Issues… and Its Reputation

If you’re wondering just how big of a pain in the butt for Nikon the D600 sensor oil/dust issues have been, all you have to do is go back into our archives and read about the lawsuits and the outrage… or read the comments on the D610 announcement post.
