Photographer Jim Golden took the whole “neatly arranged” concept to a whole new level recently: he shot the photograph above after arranging more than 190 cameras, lenses, and accessories in his studio.

If you’ve ever wondered what a Nikon D700 looks like when completely disassembled, today’s your lucky day. Czech photographer Martin Kozák recently did a complete teardown with a ruined D700, and then snapped the still life photo seen above.

The photograph above may look like it shows a photo of apples mounted to a wall, but it actually shows real apples that were packed into a neat little square. Turkish artist and photographer Sakir Gökçebag has an entire series of photographs showing various fruits and vegetables carefully sliced up and placed into neat arrangements.

Earlier this week we shared a series of photographs by photographer Dinah Fried showing notable meals found in famous novels. It’s difficult to catch the meals when reading the books, especially if they’re only mentioned once or twice, so major props to you if you recognized more than one or two of the meals.
French photographer Candice Milon‘s project La Mode en Grand Écran, or “Fashion on the Big Screen”, is much more accessible. The series shows famous outfits worn by main characters in well known movies, from the snazzy skater style of Marty McFly in Back to the Future to the droog look worn by characters in The Clockwork Orange. The clothing items are arranged neatly on backgrounds of various colors. See how many you can recognize (answers at the end).

IKEA scored a viral advertising hit in 2010 when it released a cookbook with photographs by Carl Kleiner showing the ingredients of each recipe neatly arranged on a table. Now, the Swedish furniture company has teamed up with the photographer and stylist Evelina Kleiner again for a series of photographs showing kitchen items in beautiful arrangements.

Exploded Flowers is a project by Singapore-based photographer Qi Wei in which he carefully disassembles various flowers into their most basic “parts”, and photographs them neatly arranged against a white background.

Here’s an idea for a quick photo activity (perhaps on a rainy day?): pick a random color, walk around your house and collect things that match that color, neatly arrange them, then take a picture.
