Most Instagrammed Locations and Cities of 2013 Revealed, as Well as Most-Liked Photo

instagram2013

Every time we decide to post something about Instagram, we go through a bit of an internal dilemma. On the one hand, it’s the most popular photo sharing app in the world, and many photographers have used it to great effect — for those reasons alone we can’t exactly ignore it. On the other hand, a solid percentage, perhaps even a majority, of you guys hate the app with a passion that defies our collective vocabulary to describe.

So we’ve come up with a solution. In a second we’re going to tell you what the most Instagrammed locations and cities, as well as the most-liked photo, of 2013 were, and if you hate Instagram we’re going to suggest that you (get this) don’t read on… crazy, we know. So here goes. Read more…

Stock Site Stats Reveal the Most Popular Cameras Among Stock Photographers

stockstats1

About a week ago, the stock photography website Dreamstime got in touch with us to offer us some exclusive information. Having recently added a “search-by-camera” feature, they had compiled a huge amount of statistical data on the most popular cameras being used by their 150,000+ contributing photographers.

The World’s Most Downloaded Man

This is probably the strangest and most awkward thing you’ll see today. It’s a short 5-minute video titled “The World’s Most Downloaded Man” that chronicles photographer Fernado Martins’ journey to meet Jesper Bruun, the world’s best-selling stock photography model. It’s actually part of a marketing effort for Martins’ photo studio, Câmera Clara Photography Studio in Brazil. For some strange reason the video is going viral online, despite the fact that Yuri Arcurs (the world’s top selling microstock photographer who works with Bruun) has come forward to say that Bruun isn’t actually the world’s top selling model. The whole thing doesn’t make much sense to us — kinda like this performance art piece.
