Verily: A Women’s Magazine with a Strict ‘No Photoshop’ Policy

It turns out that it does exist: a magazine that prides itself on not altering their models’ faces or bodies in Photoshop. Verily is a fashion and lifestyle magazine aimed at women 18 to 35, and even though that is prime demographic territory when it comes to Photoshop use, the whole purpose of the magazine is to at least begin reversing this trend. Lifestyle Photos Featuring Wookiees

Portland, Oregon-based photographer and art director Mako Miyamoto has an ongoing project that consists of lifestyle photographs… of Wookiees. The photographs have scenes and aesthetics you might see in some kind of clothing catalog or marketing campaign, except all of the models are sporting giant furry Chewbacca faces.

Photographer Travels 50,000 Miles Across the US by Train Hopping

When photographer Mike Brodie was 17 years old, he had his first train hopping experience in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Over a number of days, that train would take him to Jacksonville, Florida and then back. It was as short trip, but sparked a lifelong passion for train hopping and exploration in Brodie.

Brodie would then spend more than 10 years exploring the United States through train hopping, hitchhiking, and walking. Throughout his journeys, he would document the lifestyle through photography. Images from 2006 through 2009 have now been compiled into a photo project titled, “A Period of Juvenile Prosperity.”

Film About 14-Year-Old Paparazzi Photog Austin Visschedyk

Teenage Paparazzo” is a documentary film that will debut on HBO on September 27. It’s about the life of Austin Visschedyk, a 14-year-old paparazzi photographer who chases celebrities for 17 hours a day, earning $500 to $1000 for each photograph sold. Hopefully Visschedyk isn’t like the paparazzi in the Kate Mos LAX video we posted a while ago (though he probably is).
