Rumors that Canon has a smaller DSLR on the way gained a big boost this morning when Best Buy leaked the camera’s product page, complete with a detailed spec list. The camera — currently making the rumor rounds under the name “EOS 100D” but labeled EOS-b on the leaked page — is rumored to make official landfall on either March 21st or 22nd alongside another new EOS. Samsung’s upcoming NX1100 has been leaked… by the company itself. Samsung Germany published the camera’s full manual this week. While that download page has since been taken offline, an English version of the manual still remains on Samsung USA’s website at the time of this post. The manual reveals that the camera will be a minor refresh of the NX1000, which hit store shelves less than a year ago in April 2012.

Sony has a couple of new cameras and a set of new lenses coming out, and we’re starting to get a better idea of what we’ll be seeing announced very shortly. Expect to see a new SLT camera called the A58, a new mirrorless camera called the NEX-3N, and a trio of A-mount lenses.

Last week we reported that HTC is preparing to launch a new camera sensor technology called Ultrapixels, which aims to improve image quality using a Foveon-style stack of three sensor layers. The smartphone imaging war is heating up, after all, an rivals like Nokia are investing heavily in photography technologies of their own (e.g. PureView).
We’re reportedly just days away from seeing the official launch of the new HTC phone (which may be named the M7 or the HTC One), and leaks are beginning to spring. There’s a good chance we now have the first product shot of the phone and the first published shot captured with the phone.

It may not be the most popular series of compact cameras, but the Ricoh GR Digital line has attracted a sizable cult following of photographers around the world — particularly street shooters. From the time the original GRD was announced at Photokina 2004 until the most recent GRD IV, the cameras have offered smaller 1/1.77-inch CCD sensors. That will soon change: a trusted source tells us that the Ricoh GR Digital V will feature a larger APS-C sensor.

Canon’s two soon-to-be-announced lenses were leaked today by Japanese website Digicam info. The first one is, as suspected, the 24-70mm f/4 IS. The second one was more a surprise: it’s not a new 50mm, but a 35mm f/2 IS. Canon is continuing its new trend of building image stabilization into wider-angle lenses — a bit strange for still photographers, but great news for people who record video with their DSLRs.
