Premise is a micro gig worker app with photography as a core task, paying users around the world to complete simple assignments for small payments. What those users don't know, however, is that they may essentially be unwitting spies for the US military or other governments and entities.
EyeEm has released a new feature to its app, called EyeEm Selects, that will tell you which photos are the best from your library. EyeEm is a stock website where over 20 million users submit images, selling them on their global marketplace to brands all over the world.
In the future, "Auto" may be an option for choosing between JPEG and RAW on Canon DSLRs. A recently published patent reveals that the company has tinkered with the idea of a feature that could automatically choose which photos to save in RAW and which ones to save as JPEG only.
MI5 might have missed a golden opportunity to prevent the 7 July 2005 London bombings back in 2004 when they cropped a photograph of two of the terrorists badly before sending it to the FBI. The photograph was of two of the bombers -- Shehzad Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan -- and was shot by an undercover agent at a motorway service station. For some reason, MI5 decided to desaturate the photo, crop Khan (the ringleader) out, and make Tanweer look hardly human with blurry facial features and a blob-like profile.
