Here’s a neat blast from the past — a Kodak Instamatic commercial from the 1960s, when the latest technology was the ability to take four flash photographs without changing bulbs. “Four full power flashes in one tiny cube!”. The camera set was priced at $18, which is about $131 when adjusted for inflation.

Instagram is a new iPhone photo app developed by Stanford grads Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger that offers Hipstamatic-style filters for your photos, easy uploads to popular services, and a Tumblr-esque community built right in. While photo sharing apps in the App Store are a dime a dozen, there are a few things that set Instagram apart.

Jolayne Attwood (jolayne on Flickr) was at the International Photography Fair in Bièvres earlier this year when she came across this gigantic Instamatic 133 camera. There’s no covert street photography or shooting from the hip with this baby.
