Kingston University photography students Luke Evans and Josh Lake wanted to do something unusual for their final major project, so they decided to turn themselves into human cameras by eating 35mm film squares and letting their bodies do the rest. After eating and pooping out the film in the dark, they used fixer on the film and then scanned the film using an electron microscope. They are currently exhibiting massive prints of the images that show every detail of what their bodies did. Read more…
Back in 2010, street artist JR won the $100,000 TED Prize to continue his massive photographic street installations. He then started the Inside Out project to encourage people around the world to use giant posters of portraits to “connect communities, make change, and turn the world inside out.” The video above shows a talk JR gave at TED earlier this month to report on how the project is going and how it’s changing the world.

Zurich-based designers Atelier Volvox have a project titled “Outsiders” that consists of various stuffed animals turned inside-out. The toys were purchased from second-hand shops, cut open, turned inside out, re-stuffed, and sewed back up. Read more…
