Photographer Wendi Riggens has been receiving a good deal of attention in social media channels for her recent photo shoot of a 9-month-old girl, Miss Maddie. It was a fairy tale-themed shoot, with Maddie wearing the outfits of characters from famous Disney movies, including Cinderella, Alice, Wendy, and Snow White. Some fashion photographers are known for hyper-conceited attitudes and nasty personalities — traits that aren’t usually shared by infant photographers. What if they were? This humorous sketch by Paulilu Mixtape is titled “Anne Geddes: Beneath the Diaper”, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at famous baby photographer Anne Geddes in action.
There are a number of products out there that make child photography more child friendly by distracting the kid with colorful or disorienting objects. The newest member in this space is iCandy, a DSLR mount that turns your smartphone into a tool that makes your camera more appealing to youngins. For the low price of $99 (yup, it’s kinda pricey), you can elicit smiles and other expressions by displaying photos and videos on your phone as you snap away at infant faces. The creator is currently raising funds for manufacturing through Kickstarter, and a $70 contribution will preorder you an iCandy.
If you’re ever photographing a baby that’s sitting on anything above ground level, make sure you have a spotter near the baby at all times. This video shows why.
