Thomas has been running a humorous photo blog titled “My Precious Roommate.” Each entry features a photo of a baby submitted by readers and a photo by Thomas that recreates the submitted image with the baby replaced by Thomas’ roommate — a fully grown man.

A couple of weeks ago, Florida-based photographer Kelli Higgins shared the newborn photos above on her Facebook page. Her caption read,
Here’s my sweet not so little Newborn! His name is Latrell and weighs 112lbs ;)
The are now now becoming a viral sensation, with the post being liked and shared thousands of times through the social network. You see, Latrell is Higgins’ adopted son, and although the photo concept itself may be a bit unusual, many people are touched by the symbolism in the images.

Photographer Wendi Riggens has been receiving a good deal of attention in social media channels for her recent photo shoot of a 9-month-old girl, Miss Maddie. It was a fairy tale-themed shoot, with Maddie wearing the outfits of characters from famous Disney movies, including Cinderella, Alice, Wendy, and Snow White. The series is titled, “Once Upon a Time.”

Some fashion photographers are known for hyper-conceited attitudes and nasty personalities — traits that aren’t usually shared by infant photographers. What if they were? This humorous sketch by Paulilu Mixtape is titled “Anne Geddes: Beneath the Diaper”, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at famous baby photographer Anne Geddes in action.
There are a number of products out there that make child photography more child friendly by distracting the kid with colorful or disorienting objects. The newest member in this space is iCandy, a DSLR mount that turns your smartphone into a tool that makes your camera more appealing to youngins. For the low price of $99 (yup, it’s kinda pricey), you can elicit smiles and other expressions by displaying photos and videos on your phone as you snap away at infant faces. The creator is currently raising funds for manufacturing through Kickstarter, and a $70 contribution will preorder you an iCandy.

An earlier post here on PetaPixel showcased a wonderful image of a flock of cell phones and the method used to create it. In a rather snarky comment, I said to get back to me when they started tossing babies, and linked to my daughter merrily jumping in her crib with her toys. Mike was kind enough to approach me about writing up a small walk-through on how I created my image, and who can honestly turn down a chance to show off their baby daughter looking so cute?

These Diana cameras were decorated and auctioned for Lomography’s Diana World Tour this year. If you regularly photograph young children, giving your camera a colorful costume can help make it a lot less intimidating (Camera Creatures work well too).
