Pranking Tourists with Magical Photobombing

If you appreciate simple pranks, here’s a photo-related one you may find amusing. Greg Benson of MediocreFilms recently stood in front of the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard and photobombed tourists while helping to take a photo of them. The clever trick involved an accomplice and a cardboard cutout of himself.

Another simple picture prank we’ve shared in the past is the Polaroid picture person swapping prank.

Unusual Photo Questions Asked at a Camera Store in Ventura, California

xkcd Comic Pokes Fun at Seeing the Golden Ratio in Random Photographs

xkcd‘s latest comic, titled “Flowcharts,” is a tongue-in-cheek take on the concept of the golden ratio (or golden spiral) in photography. It’s a flow chart in which one of the steps reads: “Do you like when people find the golden spiral in random images?” If you choose “yes” from there, you’re taken on a golden ratio journey that magically fits the design of the chart.

A Photo Booth with a 240MPH Leaf Blower Pointed At People’s Faces

My name is Martin Szabo and I am commercial and portrait photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I was recently doing volunteer work for a charity event in Vancouver and wanted to bring little twist and fun to the party. I ended up creating a photo booth to shoot portraits of people while their faces were being blasted by 240 mph wind coming from a leaf blower.

Humor: What Canon Actually Thinks About the DSLR Video ‘Revolution’

Andrew Reid of EOSHD created this parody video imagining what the big wigs over at Canon actually think about the DSLR video ‘revolution’ they helped kick off. He added his own subtitle translations to a viral meme video of a Spanish man laughing during an interview. (Sorry if you’re a Spanish speaker.)

The clip was made for a review Reid recently did of the $11,500 Canon C300 cinema camcorder. “…at the back of my mind throughout my C300 experience, I couldn’t help imagining this,” he writes.
