Fashion Photographs with Faces Pressed Against Glass

Fashion Photographs with Faces Pressed Against Glass smash4 mini

Fashion photographs are generally shot to make the clothing and the models look attractive, but British photographer Neil Bedford chose not to go that route when shooting a series for clothing label Neighborhood‘s lookbook. He had his models press their faces against invisible panes of glass, resulting in quirky and humorous fashion photos featuring smeared faces.

Fashion Photos of Models Wearing Light Painted Dresses

Fashion Photos of Models Wearing Light Painted Dresses dress1 mini

London-based advertising and art photographer Atton Conrad does some pretty interesting mixing of fashion and light painting photography. He has done a number of images for magazines and ad campaigns that feature models wearing dresses manufactured from light rather than fabric. For each fo the images, Conrad paints the dress around the model in a blacked-out studio while remotely triggering the camera.

Fashion Photos with Dogs Peering Over Shoulders

Fashion Photos with Dogs Peering Over Shoulders dog1 mini

“Doggie Style” is a cute series of fashion photos shot by photographer Emily Shur for Paper Magazine. They’re pretty different from ordinary fashion photos: Shur had her human models face backwards while holding dogs facing forwards. She writes,

This shoot was presented to me with this image of my husband and The Baroness as the impetus and inspiration. A lot of these dogs belong to friends. Some I found via friends. All in all it was such a funny day and shoot. I loved it… even when one dog, who will remain unnamed, peed on my softbox.

MoneyMaker Strap Lets You Carry Three Cameras Like an Old-School Detective

MoneyMaker Strap Lets You Carry Three Cameras Like an Old School Detective moneymaker1 mini

MoneyMaker is a suspenders-style camera strap by HoldFast that lets you shoot with three cameras at the same time while looking like a cop from old movies.

This harness derives its style from that indelibly cool detective in our collective memories with that boss leather shoulder harness holding his peacemaker. HoldFast modified the “bossness” to hold the modern shooters tools. Drawing from those classic themes, HoldFast designed a highly fashionable, highly durable, as well as highly comfortable harness for two or three cameras. [...] The design of this harness keeps the cameras from hanging too low making them easily manageable, keeping them close to the body thus more comfortable. This setup truly shines on long shoots such as weddings.

Made out of top grain leather with anchored D-rings, this is the only multi-camera harness that actually gets better with age. The brown is oil tanned, making it very soft and malleable. The natural actually darkens with use and exposure to the sun.

The MoneyMaker is available in two colors (natural and brown) and two sizes (regular and large), and costs a cool $175 from the HoldFast website.

The Sartorialist Shooting Fashion Photos on the Streets of Tokyo

Here’s an interesting behind-the-scenes mini-documentary showing Scott Schuman (AKA “The Sartorialist“) shooting his street fashion photographs in Tokyo, Japan. Unlike many street photographers, Schuman first approaches his subjects and asks for permission.

We featured a different BTS video showing Schuman at work back in January.
