Baby Sloth Grabs Camera and Poses for Selfies

Here's a cute little video to brighten your day. It shows a baby sloth at the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica interacting with a camera that's being held near its bed. Instead of taking a nap, the slow-moving sloth decides to explore the camera and reach out its arms for some selfie-style portraits.

Doggy Photo Booth Helps Shelter Get Dogs Adopted

Photographer Guinnevere Shuster of the Humane Society of Utah came up with a fantastic idea for helping dogs get adopted: the doggy photo booth. Her photos of the dogs do a much better job at capturing their personalities than standard snapshots, and the results have been impressive: 93.26% of the dogs are now finding new homes.

Precious Moments: I’ve Learned To Catch The Smiles of Sleeping Babies

I was photographing families and toddlers in 2010 and 2011 and my work was a bit uninspiring. Then I saw American photographers creating these beautiful, arty, creative sleeping newborn photos and I wanted to do it too!

It wasn't easy. No one in the UK really saw my vision, but I managed to get a sweet family with a beautiful newborn called Daisy to help me launch this style of photography to my business. That was back in 2012 - and I haven't looked back since.

Photographer Captures a Cute Squirrel Photo Shoot

Russian photographer Vadim Trunov recently captured a series of photographs showing wild squirrels doing human things. In the snow covered forests outside the city of Voronezh in western Russia, Trunov set out some props and waited with his camera as a pair of squirrels entered his makeshift set.

Adorable Photos of a Little Trio’s Daily Nap Time

In Jessica Shyba's home, nap time is a sacred ritual. At the same time every day, her son Beau, baby Evangeline, and dog Theo take a cuddly nap together in her room. And while nap time is underway, Shyba will often take the opportunity to capture a heartwarming photograph of the little trio cuddling together in bed.

Idea: Make an Annual Video of Your Family Reviewing a Photo Book of the Past Year

Here's a nice idea for an annual family tradition (especially if you're a parent with young kids): take your family photos from the past year, create a year-in-review photo book, and then record some video of your family looking at the book and talking about it.

That's what photographer Tim Kyle started doing this year with his two young daughters. The video above shows the three of them looking over their 2014 family photos "with expert commentary."

This Guy Used a Photobooth to Capture Photos and a Video of His Proposal

A pair of high school sweethearts named Kevin and Molly got engaged this past week after being together for 7 years. To document his proposal, rather than hire a photographer or task a friend with hiding in the bushes, Kevin chose to take his unsuspecting girlfriend into a photo booth that captures both photos and video. The video above is what resulted.

A Father’s Touching Photos of His Two Sons and Their Teddy Bear

There are few things that symbolize the innocence of childhood the way a teddy bear does. A stuffed companion who is as real to a 2-year-old as anything made of flesh and blood, at that age the teddy bear isn't just something you play with... it plays back.

It's this innocence and wonder that photographer Adrian Murray captures in his touching photographs of his two boys, Emerson and Grayson, and their toy bear.

This is What Little Puppies Look Like When They’re Shaking Off Water

There's a rule of thumb when it comes to viral dog photography: what's cute with dogs is going to be twice as cute when you shrink your subjects down to puppies.

Photographer Seth Casteel did it with Underwater Dogs and the sequel Underwater Puppies, and we are very happy to inform you that animal photographer Carli Davidson recently decided to take her viral SHAKE photos of dogs and create the photo series and book SHAKE Puppies.

Portraits of Bailey the Golden Retriever Dressed up and Doing Human Things

You might not know Bailey the golden retriever, but you probably do know OF her. She's the dog from one of the famous "I have no idea what I'm doing" Internet memes that you've probably seen floating around.

What you might not know is that Bailey does a lot more than sit in front of the computer looking confused. She does everything from chopping wood, to washing cars, to balancing her checkbook, and her owner (actually, we're not sure who's taking care of who...) is there to take pictures of every adventure.

Behind the Scenes: Hanging Out of Moving Car Windows to Captured Doggy Euphoria

Photographer Lara Jo Regan's photo series/book/calendar Dogs in Cars is a fun, tongues-out survey of the euphoria dogs experience on car rides.

We shared the series with you last year, but if you've been wondering how she managed to get such multi-dimensional images from such unique perspectives, she's put together a great behind the scenes video that reveals both her lighting rig and how was she managed to safely hang out of moving car windows.

Puppies Jumping Into Swimming Pools Make for Unbelievably Cute Photos

If you haven't smiled yet today, you're about to. That's because photographer Seth Casteel -- the man behind the NY Times bestseller and viral sensation Underwater Dogs -- is back with another installment of his series that promises to be even more adorable than the first.

How could this possibly be, you ask? Well, for this second iteration, Casteel taught 1,500 puppies how to swim, making the resulting photo book so squee-inducing you might just explode from all the cuteness.

Leopard Mom and Cub Get their Paws on Park Ranger’s GoPro

Remember the first time you picked up a camera? Maybe it was a film SLR, maybe it was a crappy digital point-and-shoot, or maybe it was a full-fledged professional DSLR, but either way you probably approached it a little bit like this Leopard momma and her 10-month-old cub approached a park ranger's GoPro.

Slow-Mo Video Takes Viral ‘Pucker’ Photos of Babies Tasting Lemons to Another Level

If you don't remember the photo series Pucker, then you might have been hiding under a rock last August because it exploded. An adorable series by photographers April Maciborka and David Wile, the photos featured babies trying lemons for the first time and reacting with everything from glee, to horror, to cute versions of the scrunched up faces most of us would make.

The series went viral -- even just on PetaPixel it attracted some 6.2 thousand shares -- but Maciborka and Wile weren't done yet. Today, they took Pucker into the realm of slow-motion video.

Photos Capture the Ecstatic Expressions of Dogs with Their Heads Out Car Windows

Our quest to improve dogs' standing in the world of photography continues today thanks to an awesome photo series by LA-based photographer Lara Jo Regan that's bound to put a smile on your face. The series is called "Dogs in Cars," and if you like what you see you'll be happy to know that it's being made available as a 2014 calendar.

Henry’s Concepts: Adorable Photo Series Directed Entirely by a Two-Year-Old

In order to make a little bit of money on the side, Toronto-based portrait and wedding photographer Alex Neary does some nannying, but she probably never expected that her nannying gig would be her ticket to viral photography success.

You see, for the last year and a half, she's been looking after a ridiculously cute and creative toddler named Henry, who one day decided that he wanted to turn the camera around and photograph Alex for a change. Thus was born the adorable photo series Henry's Concepts.

Adorable Studio Portraits of Dogs Mid-Lick

Cats might be the belles of the Internet photography ball, but I'm a dog person and I'll be damned if cats get all the recognition. Photographer Carli Davidson's series Shake was a giant leap in the right direction, and now another canine advocate and photographer has stepped forward with his own series of portraits.

His name is Ty Foster, and where Davidson's series captured dogs mid shake, Foster's series Lick captures them in the middle of licking their own face.

Mother Turns Her Baby Boy’s Naptime Into Creative Dreamland Adventure Photos

Wherever you stand on the idea of having children, one of the advantages seems to be the infinite photographic possibilities opened up by having a cute child at your disposal. Whether you're talking Photoshop trickery or just watching them grow up, we've seen plenty of creative and adorable photos and videos come out of the photographic parent/photogenic child relationship.

One incredibly creative example that is currently making the rounds on the Internet is mother and photographer Queenie Liao's series Wengenn in Wonderland.

Strays: Quirky Photos of Kittens Giving the Camera the Cold Shoulder

There is no shortage of your typical cat photo online, but photographer Arne Svenson's series Strays isn't exactly typical. Instead of cute photos of cute cats doing cute things in cute ways (enough cutes?) he photographed kittens turning away, looking up, walking away and otherwise doing their best to keep you from seeing their faces.

Photo Analysis Accuses Some Photogs of Faking Cute Animal Photos in Cruel Ways

Photographs like the one above by photographer Shikhei Goh go viral on a fairly regular basis. If the stories are to be believed, given enough patience and a little (or a lot) bit of luck, animals can be captured doing all sorts of amazing things.

According to an analysis published on Weibo, however, the stories can't (or rather shouldn't) be believed. Photos like these, the article claims, are staged by photographers who force pet store animals into awkward and unnatural poses.

Portraits of Toddlers Reacting to Tasting a Lemon for the First Time

Most of us can agree that having a toddler is a lot less fun than being one, but photographing one... well that can fall closer to the latter given the right circumstances. For photographers April Maciborka and David Wile, the right circumstances were just a lemon slice and a cute reaction away.

A Japanese Dad’s Imaginative Conceptual Portraits of His 4-Year-Old Daughter

Japanese photographer Nagano Toyokazu is a dad much like all dads in that he loves his daughters, Miu and Kanna. Unlike most, however, he's managed to get his daughters a good bit of attention through his imaginative and cute photography ideas.

Kanna in particular has taken to the camera, and in addition to her part in the Kiss Me Please Project photo series, she now has her very own series title simply My Daughter Kanna.

Photographing the Endangered European Red Squirrel

Red squirrels are my favourite subject to photograph. They each have their own individual personalities, and I love to try and capture their characters in my images. Their natural curiosity makes them great photography subjects, as they will quickly get used to my presence and act naturally in front of me.

Photographer Scores a Viral Hit with His Instagram ‘Pug Shots’ of His Dog Norm

A year and a half ago, 23-year-old Seattle, Washington-based photographer Jeremy Veach adopted an eight-week-old pug named Norm. Since then, Veach has faithfully documented his pup's life by publishing daily photographs to Instagram.

The images have been a hit: his account @jermzlee has already attracted nearly 40,000 followers, and the cute "pug shots" are being featured on sites all across the Web.

This 1/8-Scale Kodak Brownie Was Made for a Queen’s Dollhouse… and It Works!

If you ever get a chance to visit the National Media Museum in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, be sure to check out the Kodak history area, which contains various Kodak cameras that appeared in the history of photography. One of the exhibits is the "Queen Mary's Doll's House Camera," an amazing 1/8th-scale replica of an old Kodak 2C Brownie. As if the detail of the camera weren't enough, here's the kicker: the model is actually a fully functional camera!

Google Glass Developer Lets His 2-Year-Old Give it a Go, Cuteness Ensues

For now, if you want to get your child's point of view on anything, the best approach is to mount a helmet cam to their noggin and hope they don't mind -- so far we've seen a few cute videos filmed this way. But in the near future, the best way to get your 2-year-old's point of view may be by handing them a pair of Google Glass glasses.

That's what developer Chris Angelini did when his 2-year-old came calling for juice. The results are pretty darn cute.

This LEGO OneStep Instant Camera Can Eject a Tiny Polaroid Picture

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-based photographer Chris McVeigh is incredibly good at building camera replicas with LEGO pieces. Last month we featured his LEGO recreation of the Leico M9-P Hermes rangefinder camera.

Now McVeigh (who goes by the name "Powerpig" online), is back with a beautiful new camera creation. This time he has built a Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Rainbow instant camera.
