Slow-Mo Video Takes Viral ‘Pucker’ Photos of Babies Tasting Lemons to Another Level

If you don’t remember the photo series Pucker, then you might have been hiding under a rock last August because it exploded. An adorable series by photographers April Maciborka and David Wile, the photos featured babies trying lemons for the first time and reacting with everything from glee, to horror, to cute versions of the scrunched up faces most of us would make.

The series went viral — even just on PetaPixel it attracted some 6.2 thousand shares — but Maciborka and Wile weren’t done yet. Today, they took Pucker into the realm of slow-motion video. Read more…

In order to make a little bit of money on the side, Toronto-based portrait and wedding photographer Alex Neary does some nannying, but she probably never expected that her nannying gig would be her ticket to viral photography success.

You see, for the last year and a half, she’s been looking after a ridiculously cute and creative toddler named Henry, who one day decided that he wanted to turn the camera around and photograph Alex for a change. Thus was born the adorable photo series Henry’s Concepts. Read more…

Cats might be the belles of the Internet photography ball, but I’m a dog person and I’ll be damned if cats get all the recognition. Photographer Carli Davidson’s series Shake was a giant leap in the right direction, and now another canine advocate and photographer has stepped forward with his own series of portraits.

His name is Ty Foster, and where Davidson’s series captured dogs mid shake, Foster’s series Lick captures them in the middle of licking their own face. Read more…

strays11

There is no shortage of your typical cat photo online, but photographer Arne Svenson‘s series Strays isn’t exactly typical. Instead of cute photos of cute cats doing cute things in cute ways (enough cutes?) he photographed kittens turning away, looking up, walking away and otherwise doing their best to keep you from seeing their faces. Photo Analysis Accuses Some Photogs of Faking Cute Animal Photos in Cruel Ways

cruelfakes4

Photographs like the one above by photographer Shikhei Goh go viral on a fairly regular basis. If the stories are to be believed, given enough patience and a little (or a lot) bit of luck, animals can be captured doing all sorts of amazing things.

According to an analysis published on Weibo, however, the stories can’t (or rather shouldn’t) be believed. Photos like these, the article claims, are staged by photographers who force pet store animals into awkward and unnatural poses. Read more…

Most of us can agree that having a toddler is a lot less fun than being one, but photographing one… well that can fall closer to the latter given the right circumstances. For photographers April Maciborka and David Wile, the right circumstances were just a lemon slice and a cute reaction away.

Thus was born the cute series pucker. in which toddlers react to their first ever taste of the sour yellow fruit that life’s always giving us with the expectation that we make lemonade. Read more…

Red squirrels are my favourite subject to photograph. They each have their own individual personalities, and I love to try and capture their characters in my images. Their natural curiosity makes them great photography subjects, as they will quickly get used to my presence and act naturally in front of me.
