The Internet often has a mind of its own when it comes to viral photos, the spread of which is virtually impossible to stop. Safeway, the second largest supermarket chain in North America, found this truth out recently after photos of badly designed cakes made their way online. The company is doing its best to quell the mockery, though: apparently at least one local Safeway bakery has gone so far as to ban photos entirely.

Photographer Gary Cruz is one lucky dude — not only did he get his hands on a Fujifilm X100, but he got what might be the world’s first X100 cake as well! It was given to him by his talented wife Beverly.

Spanish blog Duduá organized a fantasy cake contest in Barcelona at the end of April, and found amongst the many creative cakes was this sweet (pun intended) Polaroid Land Camera 1000 cake with an instant photo popping out the bottom.

Rachel over at The Custom Cake Shop made this detailed birthday cake that looks like a limited edition Titanium Leica M7 with a Summilux lens attached. Looks like some photo-enthusiast had a memorable 56th birthday.

Check out this Nikon D200 birthday cake that Josh Weisberg (the guy who sparked the Canon lens mug craze) received from his friend Mia. Apparently everything you see on the cake is edible, including the printed labels, which are made of edible ink. Everything else solid-looking is made of sugar.
