In a day and age when it’s almost always more time- and cost-effective to use CGI for more complex photoshoots, it’s refreshing to come across amazing work that was done almost entirely in-camera and by hand.

Such is the case with the above photo series created by Getty Images Art Director Lauren Catten and photographer Martin Barraud, who teamed up for these wonderful conceptual photos.

Warren and June Krupsaw, a husband/wife photography duo, have created an interesting series called Photographer/Photographs. A unique take on the BTS-style photographs, Warren captures his photographs of the world around him, while June captures him capturing the photograph. Once both images are captured, they’re paired together, showing both sides of the story, from a first-hand and third-person perspective.

Bullet Time BTS: Using Nearly Half a Million Dollars of Canon Gear to Freeze Time

Bullet time isn’t anything new, but where most of the recent examples show how you can use relatively inexpensive phones or GoPros to create the effect, this BTS video shows how Canon helped put together a crazy bullet time photo shoots that went radically in the other direction.

By linking together 50 Canon 1D X cameras and 24-70mm F/2.8L II Lenses, Swiss Radio and TV broadcaster SRF put nearly half a million dollars of gear to work freezing time in the highest quality possible. Read more…
