Pentax Unveils the K-50, K-500, and Q7: Two DSLRs and a Baby Mirrorless

Pentax had a big announcement day today, unleashing three new cameras on the world of photography. The K-50 and K-500 are new mid- and entry-level DSLRs (respectively), and the Q7 is a new mirrorless camera that carries on the pint-sized tradition started by the Pentax Q back in 2011.

‘Mini M’ Now Official: Leica Finally Unveils the X Vario APS-C Compact Camera

Instagram Now Lets You Tag People and Brands in Photographs

One of the key features afforded by the fusion of photo sharing and social networking is people tagging. On services such as Facebook and Flickr, adding information to identify the people in photos is as easy as clicking/tapping a face and telling the service who that subject is.

Instagram this morning announced that it’s joining in on the people-tagging fun. The company has released a new “Photos of You” feature that makes tagging a person as easy as adding a hashtag.

Zeiss Unveils ‘Touit’ Lenses for Mirrorless Cameras, Publishes Specs and Samples

At Photokina 2012 last September, Zeiss announced that it was working on a new family of lenses for mirrorless cameras. This past March, we got a closer look at the lenses, which were outed as a 12mm f/2.8, 32mm f/1.8, and 50mm f/2.8 for Fuji’s X mount and Sony’s E mount.

Today, the company revealed even more details about the lenses, which are branded “Touit,” publishing specs, product pages, and sample photographs.

Google Glass Specs Outed: 5 Megapixel Camera and 720p Video

Google has officially announced the specs for its Glass wearable computer/camera. Of interest to readers of this blog is the fact that the camera will be able to capture decent photographs — at least resolution-wise. It’ll be a 5-megapixel camera that has WiFi capabilities. The camera will also be able to capture 720p video and audio.
