Remember that copyright controversy last year between photographer David Slater and the money that took selfies with Slater's camera back in 2011? PETA is joining in on the fracas.

The animal rights group filed a lawsuit yesterday on behalf of the monkey, a 6-year-old macaque in Indonesia named Naruto. PETA argues that Naruto is the legal copyright owner of the photos (seen above) rather than Slater, and that all proceeds from the photos should be used for the benefit of the monkey.

An octopus is getting quite a bit of attention this week for its photography skills. After noticing a camera placed in its enclosure to photograph it, the eight-legged creature grabbed the camera, turned it around, and unintentionally captured a portrait of the photographer.

Photoshop artist and photographer Sarah DeRemer likes animals, but she doesn't like them just the way they are. Sure, a seal is cute... and a pug is cute... but why settle on that when your Photoshop skills will let you create what she has dubbed a 'Speal'?

DeRemer, for her part, never settles. And so, for her series of Hybrid Animals, she mixes together species that from opposite sides of the animal kingdom to create sometimes strange, sometimes cuddly, and sometimes terrifying (I'm looking at you... Shider) animals of her very own.
