These are the Winners of the 2019 iPhone Photography Awards

The winners of the 12th annual iPhone Photography Awards have just been announced this morning, showing yet again that you can capture some pretty impressive imagery using just the device in your pocket.

The winners include the Grand Prize Winner/Photographer of the Year; first, second and third place in that same category; and first, second and third place in 18 other categories including People, Landscapes, News-Events, Travel, Architecture, Children and more. Images were submitted by “thousands” of iPhone photographers from over 140 countries across the world.

The grand prize winner, Gabriella Cigliano from Italy, won the acolade of iPhone Photographer of the Year for her portrait titled Big Sister—a spontaneous portrait captured on a beach in Zanzibar. “I still wonder how could I capture that exact moment in all its beauty,” says Cigliano. “I was just observing, a few meters from them, but they were probably more curious about me than I was about them, and that’s probably why the girl was looking at me.”
