Olympus Unveils the 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Lens with 16.6x Zoom

Olympus has announced the new M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 super-telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The lens features a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-400mm for a 16.6x zoom, the highest magnification available for mirrorless cameras.

“Users will experience excellent depictive performance across the entire focal length from wide-angle to telephoto, making it the perfect travel companion, packing high-speed and high-precision autofocus into an amazingly compact, lightweight form,” Olympus says.

The 12-200mm features a rugged dustproof and splashproof body, which pairs nicely with Olympus’ weather-sealed OM-D cameras.

Other features and specs include a minimum focusing distance of 22cm, a maximum magnification of 0.46x (35mm equiv.), an MSC (Movie and Still Compatible) mechanism (for fast, smooth, and quiet autofocusing during video), short shooting time lag, and ZERO coating (for ghosting and flare reduction).

The new M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 will be available in late March 2019 with a price tag of $900.
