Guy Runs for a Year Wearing a GoPro, Makes Hyperlapse of Seasons

A guy who goes by the name “The Hyperunner” spent a year running with a GoPro strapped to his head. At the end of it all, he turned all the photos he shot into this mesmerizing hyperlapse journey through seasons.

The project began in 2015 after the guy signed up for the Madison Marathon in Montana. Through running over 159 miles in the next year through the same 5-mile loop in town, the guy snapped a total of 98,366 photos. The shaky imagery was then smoothed out with “intense stabilization” in After Effects.

“This first-person hyperlapse flows through the seasons as the landscapes, weather, light, and city evolve,” he writes.
