This Intervalometer Lets You Preview Your Timelapse While You Shoot It

Timelapse+, the makers of the new VIEW, call it “the intervalometer. redefined.” We don’t know about all that, but it does boast a few really neat features that will make it a very tempting purchase for all the timelapse photographers out there.

The main selling points of the VIEW are twofold: (1) an auto ramping algorithm that makes shooting day/night transitions a cinch, and (2) the ability to preview your timelapse at 30fps while it’s being shot, without having to touch the intervalometer to do it.

Check out the Kickstarter video to see the little workhorse in action:

As you can see, the intelligent bulb-ramping seems to make day to night transitions—something that’s usually very difficult to get right—almost effortless.

Plus, the whole thing can be programmed with mittens on or through a smartphone, and you never have to worry that you’re shutting off your time-lapse right as it’s getting good—just wave your hand in front of the screen to preview what you’ve got so far.

Creator Elijah Parker saw Kickstarter success with the original Timelapse+, so he’s taking that route again for the VIEW. With 24 days to go, he’s raised $38K of the $100K he’s hoping for in order to get the VIEW in customers’ hands by August of this year at the latest.
