GoPro Adds Built-In Trimming and Sharing to HERO4 and HERO+ Cameras

Today, some GoPro users are getting quite a nifty upgrade for their action cameras. The company has introduced a new firmware that allows HERO4 Black, HERO 4, and HERO+ with equipped LCD screens to trim video directly from the back of the device. In addition, you can now also trim and share videos directly from your smartphone.

Simply head to the playback mode on your device and select the new trim icon, which is displayed as a pair of scissors, over whichever video you desire. You can opt between 5, 15, and 30-second cropping options, and then decide exactly what to keep. For those worried, the camera will create an additional file so that the original video stays untouched.

Once you have created the trim file you desire, head to the GoPro mobile application on your smartphone to share it with your friends. The app itself has also received an upgrade, allowing it also to trim clips if you wish for a bit more precise control over your content.
