A Sweeping Selfie Shot with a Drone from the Edge of a Cliff

Matt Benedetto calls the video above a dronie, a combination of the words “drone” and “selfie”. It starts with a closeup view of him and gradually zooms out to show both the beautiful landscape and how close Benedetto is standing to the edge of a massive cliff.

Benedetto writes that he captured the dronie in Burlington, Vermont using a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter carrying a GoPro 3+. The drone has a range of half a mile, and can automatically fly back to its take-off location using GPS if it ever goes out of range of the controller.
