A Life With Leica: An Inspirational Look at One Photographer’s Photographic Philosophy

A Life With Leica is a short film shot by the creative minds over at Northpass Media that takes a look at the life and work of Denmark-based photographer Thorsten von Overgaard. In it, Overgaard shares his inspirational and refreshing outlook on how he approaches his photography and what it is that keeps him ticking.

The piece was filmed over the course of a seven-day journey in Rome, Italy, complete with an impressive production team that had the gear to back up the talent. A RED Scarlet, RED Epic and some Arri lights were used to create this short, and its message benefits greatly from the solid production value.

Throughout the video, Overgaard shares his philosophy on how he approaches the craft of photography. Some of the insight shared echoes the thoughts of many artists before him, but they seem all the more personal when you hear him talk about them as if he’s speaking to you directly.

You can take a look at some of the gear used and read more of Overgaard’s thoughts over on the BTS post he shared on his blog.
