Following in the footsteps of the New York Times’ Lens Blog, The Washington Post has launched something called In Sight: a photoblog focused on presenting the world through visual narratives.

The platform will use content from staff photographers, outside contributors, news services and work from The Washington Post archives, publishing daily on a diverse range of topics including but not limited to popular culture, global conflict, science, environment, and fashion.

The premise behind the site isn’t the only similarity it shares with the NYT Lens Blog though. The design is almost identical in nature, featuring a dark grey background, white text and similar structure overall.

Regardless, the simple typography (Helvetica and Georgia for those wondering), large images and minimal distractions provide a smooth experience and another source of photographic inspiration for those of you who wanted to add one to your list.
