Timelapse Captures ‘Clouds Above Tokyo’ Through Storms and Sunshine

Clouds and the sky often play a major role in time-lapse productions, but YouTube user darwinfish105‘s latest creation puts them front, center, and all around you in stunning fashion.

Captured using a barrage of equipment and locations, the time-lapse tours Tokyo’s beautiful and scary skies alike, featuring everything from spectacular rays of light streaking towards the ground to a thunderstorm that quickly overwhelms the camera as it shoots.

The time-lapse was shot over spring and summer, the locations meticulously scouted ahead of time so darwinfish105 could capture everything from sunny days around the Shinjuku Station to complete overviews of Tokyo from atop a nearby hill.

The gear involved in the creation of these scenes includes a Panasonic GH3, a Panasonic GH4 and a Sony RX100M3 and, of course, an array of different lenses to help provide a variety of different shots.
