Today, GoPro has announced a small collection of summer-themed products to kick off the adrenaline and sunshine-fueled adventures their customers will inevitably film. Below is a quick image and rundown of the two new mounts.
The first of these is “The 3-Way.” Innuendos aside, The 3-Way is a tri-hinged arm that allows for greater control of camera positioning when you’re looking to capture footage at just over an arm’s length.
GoPro specifically points out three configurations for the 3-Way: camera grip, extension arm, or tripod. It’s far from their cheapest mount, coming in at $70 over on their store.
The second of these summer-themed mounts is the Bodyboard Mount. This allows you to mount your GoPro camera to the top of any bodyboard or soft-top surfboard. It installs in the same way as a bodyboard leash plug, the minimal installation requiring only a screwdriver.
This mount also includes a camera tether and locking plug to make sure your GoPro doesn’t go anywhere, even in the harshest of conditions. The Bodyboard mount comes in at a much cheaper $20 on GoPro’s online store.
These aren’t the most exciting announcements we’ve ever seen from GoPro, but they certainly know their target market and I can’t help but agree that many GoPro users will be glad they won’t be needing to make DIY systems to film the types of footage these new mounts allow for.
