Kayaker’s GoPro Video Captures What It’s Like to Plummet Over a 60ft Waterfall

In a video that is equal parts awesome and terrifying (with just a dash of “this is a GoPro ad”) whitewater kayaker Dane Jackson gives you a first person view of what it’s like to go over the edge of the 60ft tall La Tomata waterfall in Veracruz, Mexico.

The video is short and sweet, pretty much showing you the same thing from several different angles, including the first person angle that most of us will never experience through anything other than a computer screen.

If you want to see more of this kind of awesomeness, check out this BTS video of action/sports photographer Tim Kemple at work with some of the world’s top kayakers.

Just because it’s fun to do doesn’t mean it’s fun to watch. Sorry, a lens obscured by foam is not interesting visually.

Honestly, the on-board camera was pretty worthless here. The external shots are much more useful (and scary).
