external Man Arrested after Photographing John Kerry’s House —USA Today

A 29-year-old man was arrested this past weekend after he was spotted taking pictures of US Secretary of State John Kerry’s Boston house from a no-park zone. He says he was taking pictures (which he deleted) to show a friend. Kerry’s spokesman is saying the man was photographing a particular window of the house. The man was arrested after a pellet gun and an open container of alcohol was found in his car.

Let’s be clear here. There is no story. He was arrested after finding an open container of alcohol in his car. That was his crime. Nothing to do with his picture taking. Your summary states as much. Maybe you should change the headline to “Man arrested after police discover an open container of alcohol and pellet gun in his car.” Not so shocking anymore right?

    Reuters used the same title:

Authorities were called in first because the man was seen photographing. He was then arrested for the open alcohol.

Wonder what he would have been arrested for if he didn’t have the open container or the pellet gun? I’m certain the authorities would have found something, he is a government official after all.

    Resisting arrest.
