external How Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom Is Making Good on Facebook’s Billion-Dollar Bet —Fast Company

An interesting feature on Instagram’s first year as a company owned by Facebook. Will the photo-sharing service one day be larger than its owner?

In related news: apparently Nokia is working hard to bring the app to Windows Phone.

I would not bet on Instagram. Their entire business is based on tapping into the feeling of nostalgia we get when we see a desaturated (or oversaturated) photo that reminds us of the photos of our youth. The problem is, at some point we are going to turn the corner and that feeling of nostalgia will be worn out. Old photos from the 70′s will remind us of instagram phone pics from the 2010′s instead of the other way around.
