external Interview with the Photographer Behind “Tank Man” —Photography Art Cafe

tankmanPhotography Art Cafe has published a great interview with Jeff Widener, the photographer who shot the iconic “Tank Man” photograph while covering the Tiananmen Square protests. When asked about how the photo has impacted his life and career, Widener states,

“Well my dating situation improved. Many doors opened with people that probably would not have given me the time of day. The problem with an iconic image though is it’s easy to become ‘Giligan’ or cast type. Though many know my ‘Tank Man’ image they know little of what else I have done. This is something I hope to change.”
