The Samsung Galaxy S4 hasn’t even made it into the hands of everyone who wants it, and yet there’s already a rumor going around that the company is working on a different version geared more towards smartphone photographers with an eye for quality.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is working on an alternate version of the S4 that they’re calling the “S4 Zoom.” And when we say that this is geared towards the photography community, we’re not kidding; the rumor states that the Zoom will come to market sporting the same 16-megapixel sensor found in Samsung’s Galaxy Camera.

The current Galaxy S4 already sports an impressive 13-megapixel camera.

In addition to the large sensor, the camera phone would also sport 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and 8GB of onboard storage with the option to add more via microSD card. Given the name, some sources are also speculating that the S4 Zoom will come equipped with some sort of optical zoom.

This rumor is yet another in a string of rumors about alternative Galaxy S4 models that range from a rugged “life proof” version to a “mega” version with a huge screen. If this particular S4 makes it out into the real works, it would add a well-equipped “photographic” model to that line and provide some stiff competition for soon-to-be released phones like the Lumia 928.
