Emilio Morenatti, an AP photojournalist who lost a leg while covering Afghanistan in 2009, offers words of hope to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing:
The very instrument that had gotten me into this mess, if you will, became my inspiration and part of my salvation. I carried it with me all the time to photograph the recovery of my hospital mates and to test my own.
