Fujifilm Reveals X-Pro1 Lens Roadmap, to Introduce Zoom Lenses This Fall

If you’re the owner of a Fujifilm X-Pro1 and you’ve been yearning for a little bit of zoom capability out of your lenses, then it looks like relief isn’t far off. A couple of days ago Fujifilm announced the lens roadmap for the X-Pro1 (seen above), which shows that we’ll be seeing a few zoom lenses added to the family, one of which will be here as early as this Fall.

Admittedly, the chart is comprised mostly of fixed focal length lenses, but relief in the form of an 18-55mm f/2.8-4 OIS standard zoom lens is coming this fall, with a 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 OIS telephoto zoom coming in early 2013. Also falling into the zoom category is a 10-24mm f/4 OIS super wide, which will be the last of the zooms arriving at the party. We need full frame X-Pro 2 with good useable af and manual focusing (not by wire focusing crap). Right now X-Pro 1 is useless for street photography. Too slow
