You might have heard about Leica’s legendary manufacturing quality, but have you seen it? The company released this promotional video a couple days ago providing a behind-the-scenes peek into its production facilities.

    My son just got back from Germany and from what he experienced, I’m not sure hand-made is such an improvement over robot-made considering how much alcohol is consumed in the German culture.

    No way in Germany!!! 90% of Leica products are manufactured in Portugal!!!
    Then everything is exported to Germany and then assembled their…
    Only cause it’s bad to have “Made in Portugal” carved instead of “Made in Germany”

    Actually the camera components are made in portugal and assembled in germany, the lenses are actually made in germany.

    The Leica facilities in Famalicão, Portugal, produces the hole camera. Then the cameras are exported to Germany and distributed with the “Made in Germany” engraving… it was impossible a camera handmade ,made in Germany only have the price of 1000€.
