Street Photography as Seen through the Viewfinder of a Leica M9

Street photographer Eric Kim generated some buzz last month by recording himself shooting on the street with a GoPro mounted to his Leica M9. Now, he’s back again with an even cooler point of view: through the Leica M9′s viewfinder itself. This 10 minute video of Kim doing street photography in Santa Monica was recorded using a HTC EVO 4G smartphone stuck to the back of his camera.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if this kind of footage existed for all the iconic photographs taken throughout history?

They say, in rangefinder camera, one has to overlap two images to get focus. But I didnt see such thing in this video. Please someone who have experience with rangefinder, explain me. Thanks.

You can see the focus patch at 6:30 in the video, but he’s walking around with the aperture set to f8 and using hyperfocal technique (http://www.adorama.com/alc/article/f8-And-Be-There)

You can find this kind of POV features of James Nachtwey’s documentary “War photographer”.
Many reporters does this , but few scenes are broadcasted

He doesn’t own a Leica. Leica sends him cameras to try out to see what he thinks of them.
